It's that time again to be thinking about how to keep your dogs cool in these hot summer months! Remember not to leave your dogs in the car. Temperatures inside of cars can be up to 30 degrees hotter than the outside temperature! So on a day that is 100 degrees, the inside temperature of your car can exceed 130 degrees!
Here are a few tips to help make the extreme temperatures of summer more bearable for your pets:
1. Make sure that your dogs have shade. A shady place for your dog to rest will help to reduce the impact of the heat.
2. Be sure to have a fresh and cool water supply for your dogs to keep them properly hydrated. A dog must have water to keep them cool.
3. A fan for your outside dogs is another effective step to taking the sting out of those hot summer days. It does not cost a whole lot and it will make your puppy very happy!
4. Purchase an outdoor water mister. A water mister is a low cost, yet very effective tool to help keep your dogs cool.
