Security Blankets For Small Dogs

Smaller-breed dogs are becoming increasingly popular family additions.  The tiny dogs have such lively personalities and have recently become a fashion accessory for some Hollywood stars.  But, small-breed dogs also come with special-needs, one being their warmth and comfort, since smaller dogs tend to chill easier than larger breeds.

You may feel very comfortable, but your lap dog could be quite chilly.  Let's think about why: Dogs are nearer to the floor where the cooler air in the room resides, even in winter; air-conditioning vents are sometimes on floor level shooting cold air right at them; smaller breeds are often times clipped and groomed to remove their warm coat of hair.   Little dogs also shiver when they're afraid or anxious and need someplace to feel secure.

Our furry family members rely on us to provide for their basic needs and to look out for their best interests.  I don't know of a dog that doesn't have a blanket to sleep on, but is it really efficient?  What good is a blanket that doesn't keep your furry friend feeling warm, safe, secure, and comfortable?

RoverWrap blankets are the ultimate security blankets for small-breed dogs; they make traditional flat blankets seem obsolete.  These pet blankets aren't flat – your pet goes INSIDE a RoverWrap.

If your little dog is lying on top of a blanket, it might make for soft bedding, but it's pretty useless for retaining body heat or making your pet feel secure.  The same is true if your dog is always wiggling out from under a flat blanket.  Here are other benefits of having your pet in their blanket and not on it, or under it.

They won't wiggle out so easily when they need to be covered.

They won't fall out the bottom when you're carrying them in a blanket – a definite safety concern.

They stay on your lap easier when you're holding them on a blanket.

They feel safe and secure being encased in the softness.

A warm and cozy blanket isn't just for winter months.  Make sure you think of your chilly dog in air conditioned rooms and vehicles, too.  Here are some other uses for a fleece blanket with a sleeping-bag like design:

It will keep them warm after a bath.

It calms them for the ride to and from a dog show, Vet, or grooming appointment.

Helps to keep them still and quiet during illness or after surgery.

Keeps shedding and/or claws off of your lap, clothing, and furniture.

It helps to calm them when frightened or anxious in stressful situations.

It gives them a warm place to sleep while traveling in your car, motor home, or on a plane.

It only makes sense to have your little lap dog in a blanket with as much function as fashion.
