5 out of 5 stars Safe fun way to share time with your pets   November 16, 2006

I received the Kittywalk SUV as a present, and my four indoor cats and dog have been enjoying it for over a year now. If you know cats, then you know it takes something special to hold their interest for that long :-)br /br /What I enjoy most about the stroller is that I can now share the stimulation of the outdoors with my indoor cats, without any worries about their safety -- inside the stroller they are safe from other animals, cars, and defective leashes/collars. The cats greatly enjoy looking around at birds/bugs and sniffing nearby plants [I take up to two cats at a time], and my dog enjoys walking on a leash beside the stroller (she appears to think it is extra special to have the cats along with her). My shyest cat prefers to stay inside the privacy of the tent, while my most adventuresome cat sits at the very front of the stroller and surveys everything contentedly. That cat also jumps inside the stroller almost every morning and meows to go for a walk! Inside the house, the stroller body folds down compactly (the housing itself is not convenient to disassemble, but it can be done) though I leave to out and open since the cats enjoy sleeping in/on/and under the stroller.br /br /The construction of the stroller is high quality (and made in the USA) and the green mesh is also impervious to their claws. The locking mechanism on the stroller doors is secure -- though small children should be watched around it since they could possibly open it. Remember that you should *always* be there to supervise your pets outdoors, and give them at least a day to explore the stroller inside the house before taking them out in it. I started off with 5minute "trips" to the backyard patio to accustom them, and that seemed to work well. The stroller rolls well over sidewalk, rock, and asphalt -- however we head for home after a few blocks of walking because of the weight. :-)br /br /I would highly recommend this product to any pet owner who would like to take their cats outside with them (for walks, gardening, etc.).

5 out of 5 stars Kitties, and bird ride in style   February 12, 2005

This was a Christmas gift from a very, very good friend. I am sooo loving this, but not as much as my 'babies' do. My 2 hairless (yeah, no hair) cats are both rescues, and as such I feel I must push more people to adopt a pet, rather than 'buy' one. When I took my kids to various events they used to have a basket they traveled in, which , at the time, they were pleased with. But being in the basket, they were not able to get away from prying hands or just get out of their own limelight. With the stroller's back area covered, they can get privacy when they want, or as my boy Samson does, lay stretched out, half in the covered and half in the open mesh area. It is nice not have to carry that basket or have them bothered by a leash tugging on them. They get to feel they have their own freedom to be seen, which I think is why my babies are so easy going when out and about in the public eye. br /br /It is big enough to fit two nice blankets inside the carrier for them to snuggle on/under as wel as have booth kitties in at same time and even the dog too. I have used it nce whenI needed my bird to stay out of my hair, she seemed less annoyed being in the stroller then when in the carriers I have stuck her in. Maybe because she has more visibility, so it eases her already unbalanced mind! It would work for most any animal, so long as they are bigger than the mesh screens. The wheels are very sturdy, as far as I have noticed, and get around with ease. The folding wheel section, not sure how to describe that, is very minimal in its space when folded, fits very well in trunk, I have a PT Cruiser. The carrier is not so easy to break down, you can do that to store it in the trunk, but have to 'rebuild' everytime you go out. But the carrier does fit quite nicely in the PT. If you have a sedan or something smaller, you will not have as easy a time keeping it in the vehicle. Their are few nice little compartments in back for leashes or whatever to be stored. I do wish they had a bar or something on the handle area to hang a purse, that is my only issue.br /br /The stroller has been a quite a topic anywhere I am with it, this is a good thing. I have had many inquire about it, including a woman with 6, YEAH, 6 Ferrets. I would highly reccomend this itemto anyone wanting to hve their pet out and about with them. But do remember to get your baby used to the thing before your first adventure. I left ours open in the living area and the kitties sniffed itout and eventually both enjoyed just hanging out in it.
