1 out of 5 stars Waste of Money   September 4, 2008
Save yourself the time and frustration and just buy the Litter Kwitter. I know what you are thinking, CitiKitty is half the price of the Litter Kwitter, but there is a very good reason for that.

-CitiKitty is made of thin plastic that is not sturdy enough to support my normal 10lb cat without moving around and therefore freaking out the cat who is already scared of the toilet water.

-Taking out a ring is difficult, frustrating, and the resulting edges are sharp!

-Once you take out a ring there is no going back. If your cat is not ready you are stuck or need to buy a new CitiKitty. At this point it would have cost the same to buy a Litter Kwitter.

-The ridges that are designed to keep litter on the pan are very shallow. The result is wasted litter being scratched into the toilet and an empty CitiKitty that your cat won't want to relieve itself on.

Don't waste your time or money. I wish I had listened to the other reviewers who didn't like this product either.

4 out of 5 stars Kitty potty seat   September 2, 2008
This has been very easy for our kitten to use. The only downside is the holes you are supposed to punch out I needed to use a utility knife to cut it out.(not very easy) We have only the first hole out at the moment but our kitten has been doing very well. I will be removing the next hole in another week. It is so much easier to clean and no litter smell!! Big Plus!! I would reccomend this for anyone trying to train their kitten.

3 out of 5 stars Didn't work for us   August 5, 2008
We have a young cat(18mos) that has flawlessly used the litterbox from a kitten. Following product instructions we were successful in the first two phases of training. When we removed the second ring, our cat began to look for other places to eliminate, with the result that we now have three separate places in our house with stains on wool carpet. The odor is finally fading(to us) but in spite of repeated enzyme & steam treatments & reversion to the traditional litterbox, our cat continues to regard these areas as places to 'go'. We have had to barricade these zones in the house, and that's a pretty awful way to live. If you choose to try this product, be sure to scoop within minutes of you cat's use, keep as much litter in the device as possible, and take the unit off the toilet AT LEAST every other day and clean and dry it. Molds and foul odors develop on the underside facing the commode water, and your cat will smell this before you do and refuse to use the CitiKitty. Good luck with it!

4 out of 5 stars Little bit of a mess...   July 24, 2008
So I started using the Citikitty yesterday. I closely monitored my 11 month old cat, Milo. It took about 8 hours for him first to use it. I praised him and gave him a treat. About 5 minutes later he used it again and this time he pooed. He was scratching constantly trying to get everything covered. This created quite the mess on my bathroom floor. After that incident, I fill the bowl with very little cat litter(Maybe a 1/4 of an inch). This has solved most of the problem. Now there's only a little bit of litter that goes on the floor. With each stage this should get better as there will be less litter.

My cat, DCI Barnaby, did well as we followed the "program" as outlined in the CitiKitty manual. Then, all of a sudden he started using the bathtub instead of the toilet. We had already progressed up to the removal of ring 4 ! What to do? The wonderful people at CitiKitty sent me a replacement so I was able to go back a couple of steps to get Barnaby more comfortable. Whew! I thought I would have to go back to a litter box, but Barnaby is back to doing his business on the toilet. He just needed to let me know that he wasn't ready for the next step. Thank you, CitiKitty!
