I have seen the pups crawl on to the plate for warmth . My pups are only2 weeks old, but they're all doin' fine.

I bought my first KH heating mat for my dalmatian, but the second one I bought for me. I put it under my desk to create an island of winter warmth in my home office. A heated floor mat makes office work immensely more comfortable in a cool room, and uses very little energy. br /br /The KH heating mat runs warm, not hot, and is just the ticket for under-desk foot warmers. I tried the heated rubber mats offered by other companies, but they were dangerous junk -- I scorched my floor with one. The KH is perfect for my purposes. I wouldn't use it for a mat that I stand on all day, but for under-desk use, it's perfect.

The best thing about this heater is that it is well made, good craftsmanship. It is made of stiff plastic, and it has a wire that protects the cord against being chewed. My dog lives indoors, but seemed to always be cold during the winter, so I bought this heater to put under his dog bed to warm it up. br /br /It didn't work that way, the heat was too low to warm up through the foam of the dog bed. To give you an idea of the temperature, it was similar to the lowest setting of a car seat-warmer. It was nice, but for some reason my dog just wouldn't lay on it, so I ended up donating it to the local animal shelter.br /br /PROS: Good quality, sturdy materials, wrapped cordbr /CONS: My dog didn't like it :(
My Dogs were Toasty Warm!!! February 29, 2008
I have 2 big Pit Bulls at home and they are way to big to keep in the house in the winter time. I ordered 2 of these to put 1 in each dog house. They were great!!! The best part was that they have a wire coil around the cord so that the dogs can't chew on it. This was a big help. At night when it's about 32 degrees, both dogs are in their houses toasty warm.
