To Use Bags:Pull out bag and tear off at perforation. To Refill Leash:Unscrew cap and place refill roll inside. Tighten cap. To Stop Leash:Press brake button in. To Lock LeashPush lock button in while pressing brake. Safety Precautions For safest operation, manufacturer recommends using the leash with a metal choke chain or heavy duty nylon collar. Plastic bags can be dangerous--keep out of reach of children and pets. Examine the condition of leash and collar before each use. Discontinue use of leash or collar if it becomes worn, damaged, frayed, or chewed. Keep metal hook fastened to dog's collar at all times. Always hold leash by handle; never hold the cord. Keep cord from wrapping around any body parts; cord can cut or burn you. If leash separates from collar, press the brake button immediately and cover your face to prevent possible injury.  Innovative product but not durable October 24, 2008
This retractable leash incorporates a bag system to make it one of the most convenient methods to walk your dog. br /br /The leash system is easy to use. Pushing the release button allows you to control the distance that your dog can walk ahead of you. The handle has a rubber grip which is comfortable.br /br /A small port that holds the bags for picking up your dog's messes, is convenient. However the 'holding hook' doesn't hold the 'filled bag' very well and frequently, after completing a walk, I have found the bag missing. br /br /The durability leaves much to be desired. The spring loaded mechanism lasted only 10 months for me. Given the price, that is not acceptable.br /br /I have switched to a conventional leash since this unit broke. br /br /Conclusion:br /br /The concept is great and the system is convenient. However, the durability makes this a less an average value. I don't recommend this item.

Just received this product in the mail....I've had it less than an hour and it broke. My dog never used it....this leash is terrible!!! Do not purchase.

I liked the concept but the rewind broke within a couple weeks of receiving the product. With all the warnings about the hazards of the coiled spring I don't dare try to open the compartment. It feels like I wasted $17.99*

We got this when our dog was a puppy. It's great. Yes, on occasion, the reel-in mechanism sticks, but we just rinse of the sand/dirt and we're good to go. We love the fact that the bags are already there, and we don't have to have something dangle off the leash or packed separately. I can't recommend this highly enough! we love it-

very handy that it holds the bags. tip - i got over 400 replacement bags for this on ebay for about $15. dont pay the high petco prices.br /br /it lasted 2 years. now it doesn't retract and i will have to get a new one.
