AMAZING PRODUCT!!! September 13, 2008 This product is one of the best purchases I've ever made. It is so easy to use, so tidy and completely eliminates and chance of odor. I use the crystal litter so I scoop all solid waste and have found the litter locker to be the perfect solution to getting rid of the waste with no odor, no hassle and no mess. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!
Overpriced Overcomplicated Bucket June 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I cat sat for a friend that had one of these. It works. It is easier to deal with and more sanitary than throwing litter into the trash 1+ times a day. But why waste the money on the initial purchase and ongoing need for supplies? My solution is simpler, far cheaper, and just as easy.
Use an empty 40 lb litter bucket and put a trash bag in the thing. The cover fits tight enough that no odors escape. Put the litter scoop on top of the cover for some added extra weight and scoop storage. You do get a slight whiff when you open the cover to throw some more used litter in the thing. I use the premium clumping cat litter and they all have deodorizers in them so I really don't smell anything. If it bothers you put a cap full of pine cleaner in the bucket and that will do the trick. You can also put a couple of sheets of newspaper on top of the daily "load" which damps down any remaining odor and hides the waste from view. When it gets filled, throw the whole trash bag in the garbage can.
Slightly more fancy but almost as cheap is go to a local hardware store (all the major chains sell these) and get an unused 5-gallon paint bucket and put a trash bag in that. The advantage here is that the lid is a bit more substantial and fits a bit more tightly. Don't pound it on though or you have to break the seal to open the container. Just lay the lid on top of the bucket. Put Hello Kitty contact paper on the thing if you want something pretty.
Great product May 30, 2008 I had my litter locker for a little less than a month and I am still on the same cartridge. This is the greatest thing anyone ever came up with. Someone should've came up with this a long time ago. Saves me from having to trudge back and forth the the trash can every day, especially in inclement weather.
Product is compact and fits in the corner of the room without taking up alot of space.
Phenomonal! May 12, 2008 As the 'keepers' of 2 indoor cats, we had become weary of the piles of smelly bags of catpoo which would accumulate in our garage - at the same time, trying to get away from plastic grocery bags and into the reusable bags. So when I found the LitterLocker here on Amazon I HAD to try it. Wow! No smell, and no having those bags pile up. Of course the refills are not free like plastic grocery bags BUT this is much neater and NOT SMELLY. Easy to change and refill as well. Along with changing away from clay litter to World's Best Cat Litter (also great esp since both myself and one of our cats are asthmatic), our catpoo issue has become a non-issue! Buy this - you won't regret it!
Great to have in multi cat households or bad weather January 20, 2008 I love, love, LOVE the Litter Locker. As others call it, it's like a "diaper genie" for cat litter boxes.
I found during recent years here in South Florida, that it was VERY helpful to have a Litter Locker at each litter box during hurricanes. When your cats are a. cooped up inside before, during, and after storms, b. using their boxes much more, and c. nervous/anxious/upset, a clean kitty box is a must. AND when there is no trash pickup after storms, and you don't want kitty poop baking in the sun or sitting in a trash can around your home, it is also welcome. I would think the same would be true in cold, winter climates, also.
For my household, it is such a Godsend. I have 6 cats, and it is always a handy gizmo to have. Makes cleaning kitty litter boxes so much easier, quicker, convenient, and my cats are happy too.
