Our pit loves it! January 2, 2009 We had two dogs who, together, could destroy anything - even nibbling the edges away from a Kong (They can take down one of those stuffed firehose toys in less than 90 seconds). After tryinig pretty much every rubber toy labeled "indestructable" or "durable," we bought this bone in hopes that it might last long enough to take to the park for swimming. I'm happy and surprised to say that, almost a year of rough play later, this bone looks pretty much untouched. Both dogs love the toy (when we had to give one of them away to friends, we sent her with her own), which is great for fetching, chewing, etc. After spending so much money on so many different kinds of dog toys that lasted less than an hour, I can't recommend this one enough.
so far ..so good December 31, 2008 My 9 month old black lab loves her new bone and so far it is still intact and she chews it all the time !
Well, it did last an hour. December 29, 2008 My 8 month old 60lb lab mix destroyed this toy in an hour. Honestly, I never expected it. It seems that the largest Kong toy is the only thing he can't destroy. They advertise this toy as indestructible, but that just isn't the case here. Maybe some other dog can't break thru it or break pieces off it, but mine can and did.br /br /There's also a 1 time replacement if you take them up on their warranty replacement offer, but I'd have to spend $6 to ship it back only to get another one that my dog will destroy. That seems like a waste of time.
One Day With a 60lb Dog December 21, 2008 I have a 60-ish pound Lab/Pointer mix I would describe as an aggressive chewer. (Thankfully, he doesn't show any interest in furniture and we've only lost one pair of shoes.)br /br /I ordered this bone as an alternative to the Nylabone products because I thought it would be better for the flooring. Within the first hour, I noticed a large chunk of the Hurley bone lying beside him as he chewed. Within a few more, he had shredded one end.br /br /I don't want a replacement (which Hurley says is free for the first destroyed toy--shoulda taken that as a hint); I want my money back.br /br /The large Planet Orbee balls have lasted several months, now. I'll buy more of those when needed.
A tough toy that dogs like to play with November 29, 2008 The orange bone has lasted about 4 months with our strong chewing mixed breed pups. After all that time, they have only been able to chip off a little bit of the rubber on one end of the bone. This is one of the few toys that is tough and fun to play with. Lots of the "tough" toys are shaped so the dogs can't really chew on them, which, unfortunately, seems to be the main motivator for our dogs. This is the best of both worlds. It is about as tough as the traditional Kong toys, and that's saying a lot!
