1 out of 5 stars Immense disappointment   June 14, 2008

The Hide-A-Toy Squirrel offers my dogs no challenge whatsoever and neither they nor I understand how this is referred to as a puzzle. It even comes with instructions as to how best to introduce it, including to store it in the dirty laundry hamper for twelve hours in order to cover it with our scent prior to giving it to our dogs so that they can locate the squirrels. Were this a long tree trunk with numerous critters well hidden inside such that it required extensive digging and twisting and turning inside out to locate them, my dogs would enjoy it. Instead, it offer no challenge. Place a stuffed animal sticking out of a teacup and that's a comparable level of challenge. A Kong with an item stored inside presents more intrigue.

5 out of 5 stars Great fun!   May 28, 2008
The dogs LOVE this toy...it's a bit too easy for our 3 year old puggle as is, so we 'modify' it by wrapping up (and tying with big knots) the squirrels in an old pillowcase (or t-shirt) and shoving them back in the the tree stump. The pups have a great time working the squirrels back out. They also love trotting around the house with their 'prize squirrels' in their mouths - I think they are the only squeaky toys that haven't been dissected yet!

3 out of 5 stars Our dogs love it   May 9, 2008
Our dogs go crazy over this item, unfortunately it doesn't last very long. They usually have the squirrels gutted and ripped apart within hours. The nest takes a little longer, but before they masacre it, I am able to hide other toys in it. They love this.

5 out of 5 stars Best Toy   April 24, 2008
This toy has been great. My puppy, Megabyte, loves this toy. She stays amused for hours on end. I recommend this to all my friends who have puppies.

5 out of 5 stars The little squirrels that could!   February 23, 2008
My 15 week Miniature Schanzuer loves this toy. He gets so excited when he sees me putting the Squirrels back into the tree. He also is a fairly big chewer but in two weeks still has not done any damage to the squirrels.. the tree on the other hand he has broken the plastic piece inside the bottom that allows it to stand up properly and as caused a small tear in the inside. Even so it is still in good working condition and I would recommend this to anyone with intelligent dogs.
