I was driving so I couldn’t take a closer look, but today I saw what looked like a small Corgi from behind. When I saw the dog’s head, it looked more like a Chihuahua.

Is there an established breed like this, or is this dog “one of a kind?”

As far as I know, there is no established breed that is a corgi/chihuahuah mix. That doesn't mean that someone didn't breed these 2 dogs together or that there wasn't an "oops".

I am the proud owner of a rescued Chigi pup, her name is MoJo (Molly Joanna) and she is one of the best pets I have ever had so far. Apparently the breed is fairly new, though, because I am having difficulty finding any information on the breed itself, other than its a mix between Welsh Corgi and Chihuahua.

But to answer your question, yes they exist and they are too cute for words ^_^

Yes they are real I breed them and they are wonderful!

There is no such breed. Until officially recognized, this is simply a mix, or mutt depending on your choice of defintion. It takes far more than putting 2 breeds together and giving it a name to establish it as a "breed". If that was the case there would be thousands out there. That is what the term mix or mutt is for.
Though they may be cute, there are simply a mixed breed.

We own 2 corgi's and have fallen in love with the breed. My wife brought home a corgi/chihuahua mix she found at a rescue center. Wow, what a great dog. I actually like her qualities better than the corgi's we have. I thought she was an acidental mix, but looking on the internet maybe it was intentional.

sweetie pie is my adopt a rescue pet chigi. she has the understanding of about 50 words.

her favorite past time is "herding" her stuffed animals from one corner of the house to another. i put these stuffed animals on their own leashes and she pulls on these ribbons (leashes) as she rearranges where these stuffed animals are located.

she is very muscled and loves to run in wide circle eights around my legs when we go for walks inside our fenced land.

she is incredibly loyal, loving, and can cry real tears. I have never seen a little dog cry real tears before. if quiet tears will not get her enough sympathy she will sob loudly.

it has taken a little work to teach her to not bark at other dogs as she has not had many opportunities to interact with other dogs until recently

the size of her ears is amazing.

she looks the same at 10 months as she did at 4. the major difference is her size. she currently weighs about 10 lbs and is in perfect proportion. people all comment on what a good looking little dog she is.

Chigis are designer dogs. Mutts. They are not recognized by the AKC. They will probably never be seen in the show ring. You can get plenty of mutts at the shelter. And even some purebred dogs too.

Couldn't agree more. If you're going for specific traits, get a purebreed. If you just want a wonderful companion, go to a shelter and get a rescue dog. I have one of each and, they are both wonderful dogs.
