We Have a GS that is 1 1/2 years old. His name is Tuxedo. Despite endless hours of training he still has momemts where he thinks he's the boss. He can be very vocal about getting his own way but in the end we win and he is a big baby. Anyone have a problem with their GS doing (house laps) no other word for it as he gets into this mood where he will do about 20 of them then lay down. Needless to say we are sparce on furniture these days to make room for the occasional Indy 500 my dog may decide to take part in. He is a beautiful dog and really good friend to us. Just thought i'd share that. Thanks

Red face I have a mini schnauze

He also likes the Indy 500 laps.....only sometimes at night he goes nuts and just runs in circles...down the hall and around the living area and then back a few dozen times like he is possessed, then he sits down and goes to sleep. He is very destructive, the puppy pheromones doesnt work and neither does the nasty tasting spray to stop chewing

I have talked to other Schnauzer ownres and the house laps seem to be a trade mark for them. My giant was a busy puppy also, like to chew on anything. It does get better, i can actually leave my shoes on the floor without worry now. I am considering even buying a couch as he ate my leather one. I raised two kids and i didn't even have to child prove as much as i had to with my Giant. Having him learn to love his kennel will be your saviour. We also take ours everywhere we go, even to work. He has calmed down a whole lot. But he can jump to any occassion when needed. We also took him to 3 rounds of training so he does listen, when i wants to.
