Labradoodles! As the name suggests, it's a mix of Labrador Retriever and Poodle. I heard that the mixed breed Labradoodle was developed to be a hypoallergenic dog. It’s not just a designer breed it’s a designer breed with a purpose. It’s very cute too.

Maltese, Yorkshire Terriers, Shih Tzu, Poodles, are all non-shedding breeds that I own or have owned in the past.

Default Miniture Schnauzers

You asked for dogs that don't shed and are good with people that have allergies. I now have a miniture schnauzer they don't shed but they do require clipping about every 6 weeks. The only time I find lose hair is right after a grooming visit, after clipping her they didn't blow the cut hairs off. I am going to ask if they will do this the next time. I have also had a poodle and know that they don't shed as well.

We have two standard poodles and my husband and I both have mild allegeric reactions to them if we spend too much time with the dogs near our faces. That said, both dogs live in the house and sleep in our room (sometimes the bed, I have to admit) and 95% of the time we are fine.

As for the shedding, well, let's just say my husband complains much more about MY hair being all over the house than the dogs. In fact, we've never found a dog hair.

I think the best dog for something like that is a Shih Tzu, they have hair instead of fur. My dad is allergic to dog's, but he was fine around a shih tzu.

I have a Bichon and they are also considered hypo-allergenic. I've had him for a month now and have not seen 1 piece of hair anywhere. Yes, they need groomed regularly but it does'nt seem like it will be a problem. My boyfriend has bad allergies and after a lot of research on the web I decided to go with this breed and he has not had one attack.
