Default I have a german shorthaired pointer

We got him two years ago in February from our local shelter. He has been awesome!! When we got him the woman at the shelter told us we would have a hard time potty training him and we would probably bring him back within a week. He peed the lenth of the counter on the way out that day. Guess we know what he thought of her. It took us one week to potty train him. He does like to get into trouble occasionally by chewing things but, he is like our son. I think he does have seperation anxiety though. He will not eat if we aren't both home and won't drink all day until we come home. This is a new thing. It is definately the best decision I have ever made. I didn't even like dogs until we got him. Do you have one?

Yes, I am mom to Bo, eight and half month old GSP. He is a bundle of energy (like I expected), but very loving. One thing I really like about GSPs is the colour variations. Bo is Liver Roan, not solid liver and not light.

I had a German Pointer called Rhina as a child. She was the first dog that I knew and was a family pet. I remember taking her for walks and often being stopped by people asking about her breed as she was so unusual.

She was quite slim and similar in shape to a Doberman, but white and tan coloured with a short tail. She was also quite nervy and had her own armchair (which visitors to the house used to remark on). She was a great dog: loyal, intelligent and well-trained if a little highly-strung.

I own an English Pointer myself, but think GSP are gorgeous too. Especially their coat colouring. Pointers....all pointers and any pointers are the best!
