Let's talk about German Shepherd dogs! Please share you experiences, thoughts and feelings about the German Shepherd dog and German Shepherd puppies.

I own a 6 month old German Shepherd and i love him to the death. In my opinion I think it is the best breed. An oh boy are they smart! I had one a while back that was stolen from me and he was awesome was the smartest dog I have ever seen. They are so loving and such cuddle bugs. They are very loyal too. Deffinatly make wondeful guard dogs but have to be socialized. My first Shepherd wasn't socialize well and had major issues with new people. But if you keep there huge brains active and give them lots of love excersize and sociaslization I believe they are thee best breed! They are wonderful with kids too at least in my exsepriance.

That's great that you have had such great experiences with yours. I've never met one that I've liked though. I've even owned a couple Shepherd mixes & I didn't really like them. They always seemed overly agressive to me. But that's just my experience with them. My uncle was a retired police officer, he always trained his to be mean. But that's awesome that you like them. They're just not for me.

You know I have noticed that Shepherd mixes are agressive too! I don't know why that is. My dad has a Shepherd Husky mix right now and she's mean. People that don't socialize there shepherds are going to have an aggresive dog. That is why it is so importnant to socialize them with people and other animals. They are a very protective breed loyal breed and there not going to let anyone they don't know near them or near them without being worned with a good growl if they are not socialized. An aggressive police dog is understandable with the line of work they have to do. I am sorry you haven't had a good exsperiance but they are a wonderful breed.

I love Shepherds, I have had them my whole life. When I get my own house i will add a second one with max. He is shy but after 5-10 min, he is teddy bear lol

Oh I love them! We had one growing up named Beezy. The sweetest dog ever
