My mother has always had toy poodles all our lives. She also use to breed them. I have to say that I don't really like poodles, just because there look they are kinda prissy looking My mother would say otherwise! Anyhow they can be great dogs, my mothers latest three are 8 yrs, 7 yrs and 5 yrs only one is potty trained, and shes had them since pups, they bark and whine all the time, they are spazes they leap and jump all over you. I really can't stand them. But we had one when I was younger that was just the best little guy in the world, and I loved him to death. It just depends on the dog.

My mother has always had toy poodles. I never really cared for these dogs. Dont get me wrong they are cute, but I think they can be mean. Everytime I go near my mom or my sister the do will try to bit me. She starts growling and barking if I even try to sit near one of them. I have been bitten several times and I just dont trust these dogs.

Hi
I have had all three sizes of Poodle, Toys are the most demanding, so loveable and you will never be alone if you have one, they love to be with you at all times whether you are out walking or in the bath, perhaps a bit too possesive some times! Minatures are quite adorable too, a better size if you like a bit more exercise and they are not quite as clingy, the standard is much more their "own dog" I have one at the moment and she just loves to be with me but is just as happy curled up on her bed. All poodles are just fantastic and there is a size and temperament to suit all, they are incredibly intelligent and are a wonderful addition to any home as long as you are prepared for all the grooming, I also have a bichon and a collie cross so they sure keep me busy.
:-)

The toy poodle is too little for me (my momma didn't name me Grace ), but my sister has one and I have to say that she is totally amazing and perfect for my sister who is disabled.
My sister keeps an old box that reams of paper came in next to her chair. In it, she has all kinds of different treats for Missy and for her cat, Sammie (my sister is a shop-a-holic). Missy will go to the box and pull out the kind she wants and take it to my sister for her treat. She knows which ones out of all those packages is hers and not Sammys and which one she wants at that time. Then, when my sister has taken out two treats, she will take the package back and put it back in the box and then come and sit for her treat.
My sister also has a toy box for Missy and Sammie. Missy is allowed to have three toys out at a time. She tries to push it, but my sister will tell her "Only 3" and she will look at the other toys that are out and choose one to put back in the box. She, also, picks up her toys before bed every night and puts them back in the box - of course, she needs to be told to do it just like any kid. | |

Toy poodles are my latest addiction!!!
I have 5 dogs and 2 of them are toy poodles.
I have always admired how beautiful they look,
how soft they feel and how smart they seem.
Does anyone else have TP's and would like to share pics,
exchange info,etc?

ChaBellaCha, was it easy to pottytrain your toy poodles? ALso, are they good at being left alone all day while you are at work?
