Question Whelping ??

Hi. I'm new here and have a question and I'm not exactly sure where to post it so....I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or knew of one...I have a female boxer that is pregnant and due Dec. 10th. She started acting strange and breathing very heavy Wednesday so out of curiousity I took her temp...98.7. I kept a close eye on her and checked it again the following am...98.4. I called the vet and they said they thought she would be whelping soon. Continued to monitor her temp low-98.1 high-99.7. Still breathing heavy and very restless and uncomfortable, not wanting to eat and some nesting. No pain or contractions that I can tell of. This morning a temp of 98.3. She is more swollening in her vulva and does now have a "stringy" discharge after urinating. Current temp 98.1. No other indications of whelping soon. Seems relatively calm today. The vet said either she'll whelp soon or she'll whelp later. lol. I'm wondering if she just has a lower "normal" temp? And if so what else can I use to determine whelp day?My first bitch never nested and never even made a sound the entire time so her temp WAS the sign of labor. Any thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Sometimes it doesn't matter what breed or what not. Sometimes it is just the dog.
