hello anyone know how big a litter a first time boxer mom will have or does it matter if its their first ,,,any advice would be great!!!

anywhere fro 3-13. Each dog is different, i have seen first time moms have as many as 13, and as little as 3. so no one realy knows. till you get teh dog checked by a vet, or when she has them.:-D

Just like people each dog is different! some dogs get as big as a house, and others, you can hardly tell they are pregnant at all. is she having boxer pups, or mixed?? i am only asking, because of size. you have to be carefull with mixed breed pups, if the other breed was bigger than her, her pups could grow big, and cause complications. also, if she has a small litter as oppssed to a large litter,say she has 3 puupies, the puppies will grow larger, and cause complications. Make sure she gets checked by a vet, to check the size of the puppies. Having to call a vet in the middle of the night because of complications is expensive(although no matter what you do, sometimes it is necessary!). make sure you have the vet check her! and have him, or an emergency clinic on hand in case of any probs! good luck!

thanks again for replying,,and yes she is pregnant with another boxer ,she is a flashy fawn and he is a flashy brindle so i meant they will probaly be mixed in shade,,and yes she has been checked but no real answer on how many she will be having ,,on feb 20 5 days before she is due i am going for an xray so i know what to expect come delivery time,,i was just curious because someone at petsmart said she would have a small litter her first litter,,,but as you said everyone is different,,she was very fit and muscular before becoming pregnant ,and is still real active so this is why she probally dont show to much yet only a pot belly and no curved sides anymore ,,,thanks again...

thank you so much for your input,,i have read 2 whelping books and i think i am prepared got all my supplies an so on ,,but yes i am inexperienced and this is my first litter ,so i was curious on size but like i said she comes from champion bloodline and was a very fit dog and still looks very good ,but just like people everydog carries different and i will have to wait until the xray on the 20th of feb to see if i may need my vets assistance,,thanks again and wish me luck i will keep everyone posted,,,,
