ok I need help here.. I just rescued a dog from the pound.... She looks like a ALASO APSO ?? but here papers from the pound say I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS!I LOVE DOGS! TZU??? of course the top half has long hair and the bottom half is shaved short cause of hair mats and tangles..

Now my mom has both her laso has a longer nose than the Shittzu??? Is their any other ways to tell .. also I believe my moms alaso has Straight hair .. and the S-tzu has some curls in it..

the dog I rescued has Long straight hair.. and longer snout than a S-tzu..

Any help would greatly be appricated..

Can you post a picture? Shelters usually have to guess the breed of a dog.

Lhasa Apso and Shih Tzu (correct spelling for both) are very closely realated. The Lhasa's are typically larger, and are more cautious of strangers. Curls are a fault in the Shih Tzu coat - and are not desirable. A slight wave is alright - but curls are a no-no.
