Depends what you want from your dog, where you live, lifestyle and what you mean by "tiny". Looking at the toy breeds you have the obvious Chihuahua, very sweet but very expensive to buy around £1400!!! You could look at a Yorkshire terrier, toy Poodle, maltese, dachshound, shihtzu, pomeranion. All are small breeds but thier capacity to fit your lifestyle also needs to be taken into account and if you contact responsible breeders through the Kennel Club and give them honest information of what you want a good breeder will say if the breed is for you or not. You can also meet thier dogs and see if you really like the breed. Better to do as much homework as you can before committing to 15-20 years of your life. Good luck!

I can't believe nobody suggested a Bichon Frise! I LOVE mine. And I have had three of them, so I know it's not just this one. They have excellent personalities, smart, don't chew on things, easy to house break. They don't shed and don't slobber. Their grooming can be a little costly, but brushing them regularly helps with that. I just think they are awesome!

I recommend a Yorkshire terrier. My mother has one and they are very friendly.

I can only recommend Westies since that is all I've had. They are immensely loyal but can be very independent (like most terriers) so don't expect blind obedience from them, you're unlikely to get it!Another advantage of the Westie is that they don't cast. Most dogs have a summer coat and a winter coat and shed there old coat twice a year in preparation. Westies don't do this and therefore need grooming once every 10-15 weeks.
