I have a jack russel and he's awesome. tons of personality, but quite a handful. I'm not a big dog person, but his personality is similar to cat. I don't feel bad when I don't pet him (like a cat). He is my fav. dog of all time, but like I said, he is quite the handful.

my favorite breed of dog would have to be a golden retreiver.they are good dogs to teach things to. like how to sit, lay, and all of the basic commands.i also think that they are very nice dogs. that they are good around young children. they like to play alot and they are a lot of fun to.for me u really can't notice that my dog is here at home. cuz he is such a dog boy then u ask where the dog is.o yea they are protective dogsgentle when u play with them so i love golden retrievers the best!!!

I'd have to say that my favorite breeds are miniature poodles and dachshunds. Miniature poodles are very lovable and they are always there when you need them. They know where you are feeling down and try to cheer you up. Great lap dogs too, if you are looking for a lap dog here it is! I like dachshunds too mainly because they are very good cuddlers like poodles and have good personalities as well!

Dober-man
Doberman Pinscher's are my favorite. Streangth, Beauty, smart, loyal, speed agility, loving, playfull and protective... yet can think independantly. I've raised Rots, Shepards and now Dobies. I have four of them. They have such dynamic personalities. I know they arn't for everybody. They are highly energetic dogs and if not trained propperly WILL BE a handfull.

Labradors and cockers may bite more than pits SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHATTTTTTTTTTTT But if you look at DEATHS FROM DOG BITES pit bull types and Rotts top the list.
Stop risking your kids to try and prove it stupid argument that pit bulls are really misunderstood dogs. They are very understood. Yes gentle for the most part but if they go then they go and your kids will die or be mauled for life. But i guess you love your dogs more than your kids.

Your ignorance about the Pitt's just astounds me!.....I think you should stop looking at pictures and start educating yourself about the breed!

and exactly how many of these alleged attacks were actually caused by "PBT's?
Your statics are not valid as even those who took these statics will tell you it was based on eye witness accounts wherein the majority of the people could not truly tell a PBT from a Bulldog. That is why these statics are in fact not valid and are inflated. Any real person with dog knowledge can attest to this but only a pig farmer would not know the difference between a real PBT and even a Staffordshire Terrier. As for the child killed in England, you best double check that story again. I have friends there and all have stated the same thing, it was not even a PBT but like you, the public panicked and decided it had to be therefore it was. Since you are so into aggressive dogs and mean dogs and fighting dogs then say your not, why don't you find a place where you can act out this as obviously you are totally insecure about something. Generally those who insist on having tough or aggressive dogs are only attempting to make up for there shortcomings as you obviously are by being here. Besides, any idiot knows that statics are never accurate as they are based on people and as we all know especially seeing you here, it only proves that people cannot be trusted as is common knowledge. Ask any attorney or District attorney and they will tell you eye witness' are more prone to error than anyone since in the heat of the moment shock sets in and their re-count of the event can be totally different then the next person standing and witnessing the exact same thing.
Sorry, your info is flawed based on common sense but then, maybe that is your shortcoming!

Thanks Yogi....You saved me the time by pretty much summing up all I was going to say...You're definitely right that most people wouldn't know a true APBT if it was right in front of them....As sad as it is when a child gets attacked it's the parents fault for leaving the child unsupervised with a large dog and it's the owners fault when the dogs turn out that way...In all my years of breeding and owning Akita's I never left my kids alone with them until they were teenagers....None of my dogs ever posed a threat to a child and were extremely tolerant of the annoying things they would do but as a responsible parent I was not willing to take that chance...Any dog can pose a threat to a child if left alone with them and not supervised properly...That is all part of being a responsible parent/dog owner!

Your ignorance on what is the true nature and temperment of the breed versus the one the owner has created is more then I can stand...I'm done with this conversation!

My favorite is American Pit Bull Terriers, that is what I've mostly had and been around since I was young. I like the short coat, little maintenance, eagerness to please, ease of training, clownish behavior and athletic ability. The Cane Corso and Caucasian Ovtcharka have also worked out well for me and I really like them both.
The others I've liked over the years Boxer, Boerboel and Belgian Malinois top the list.
Those I've yet to own, maybe I will or maybe I never will are like Dutch Shepherd, Kangal, Perro Cimarron, Sarplaninac, Cani Pertiatzu, Canaan Dog, Schipperke, Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
