Default What is a good, on the small side breed of dog to buy that won't be too

expensive to buy? I know all about vet bills, food etc. I just want a cheap price to actually get the dog.

Going to a puppy mill, you would be finding mass amounts of over bred Maltese dogs. They are supposed to be no bigger than 5 pounds, but more recently the breed has had pet quality "throw backs" that are about the size of a toy poodle. They do need to be groomed monthly, but they don't shed as much, are smart to learn tricks and can be good company in a small area. The are easily kennel trained, and are not usually bad barkers. Hope this helps. Happy hound hunting!!

A schnoodle1 I have two of them and I love them so much! They have hair not fur and they don't even shed! They only weigh up to fifteen pounds full grown and they only cost about five hundred dollars.

Go to petfinder.com. You can put in "small dog" search and find adoptable dogs in your area. Don't go buy a puppy, especially from a puppy mill ("breeders" who don't care for their animals, only the money to be made from getting as many puppies off a poor dog as possible). There are plenty of pure breds and mixes available on petfinder.

CHINESE PUG- Wonderful companions, great personalities,if socialized get along with other dogs and not too small and not too big. My pugs -love to swim, ride in the car, play in the park, considermy cats as friends, are people lovers and have a pleasant bark-(which they only do if the door bell rings or someone comes near the house) good watch dogs! They have smooth coats that don't require a trip to the groomers and love baths- easy to do in a utility sink. They love to sit on my lap but also lounge in their baskets.
