I want a medium size dog, that doesnt require much grooming and loves kids. (I love the looks of German Shepherd so anything similar to that, I've seen German Shepherd-beagle mixes and those are adorable!)

Labordoodles. It's a Laborador mixed with a poodle. They don't shed at all, their medium sized, and their adorable. Also, some of the most sweet doggies you'll ever meet in your life.

I think golden retrievers are the best dogs to have with kids but they take a little grooming.

My dog is a doberman/husky mix. He's about 50 lbs (looks like a shepherd/dobie mix). Personally I think any mix is fine just depends on how you train them. He's a very smart personable dog but I think you kind of get that with any mixed breed.

I grew up with many dogs starting when i was about 7 years old. Our German Shepard, Black Labrador, and Golden Retriever were all good with my sister and I, and especially my brother who was very young with the dogs (my sister and I were are 10 and 12 years older than our brother). We also had a beagle who was very nasty, and a cockapoo who was skittish....she didn't like being played with, especially by my brother. But that could possibly be b/c she was older when we got her. All of our dogs have been from he SPCA. Have fun with your dog!

MY son and also my neighbors son used to hold on to jed's tail while learning how to walk. he love children and is also very protective. he is a lab and chow mix. super dog!!!

yorkipoos are very cute and they don't shed at all. Its a yorkie and a poodle mix. Very adorable.
