What is the best breed of fighting dog, that is good with young children and not
banned in the united kingdom? I actually mean a pitbull type dog, but not a pitbull and no im not going to fight it that is totally cruel and it's going to be a family pet/ guard dog.

Let me see if I understand your question- You want to know what kind of dog you can cruelly force to fight another dog with the possiblity of injury and likely death to either dog that you can keep in your house with your children?Did I get that right?

There is no such thing as a fighting dog to be good with children. If you consider a golden retriever/Rottweiler mix, then yes. But they are stupid.

Fila Brasilo! They are very protective and great with kids! I have a son that is Autistic and bonded with it very well! But, I would not want a dog to fight it! That is just cruel! but if you are looking for a guard dog they are good!

Actually pitbull type dogs are EXCELLENT with children, and most of the top fighting dogs were kept in the men's homes with their wives and children. They are VERY tolerant of children and tend to adore them. I'm NOT condoning fighting, but just stating that the breeds were bred to be very human and child friendly.
Why not just get a staffy? Personality wise they are basically exact to the American Pitbull Terrier, and are THE original pitbull. Very sweet dogs, but extremely active as well. Any dogs from this group will need a "job" in order to be happy and stable. All of these rampages you hear about are due to either mistreatment, idiocy on the owner's part, or lack of mental and physical exercise. These are NOT apartment dogs to lounge on the couch all day.
BTW...rotties aren't in this group FYI.

Do you have any proof or experience with this? Oh, and not all goldens are good with children/people/other animals. My cousin was nearly killed by one who was "good with kids".

Sorry for the gazillion posts, tired and keep forgetting to put things. "fighting breeds" and "guard dogs" are completely different "groups" of dogs. Pitbulls if raised properly (ie not beaten, fed gunpowder to "make them mean", etc) make HORRIBLE guard dogs. Like I mentioned, they're extremely people friendly as a rule.
