Yes, dogs will mate whenever the female has her heat cycle. Males can get quite aggressive around females in heat too. (It's like if a very attractive female went into a bar full of guys and had "do me" written all over her). It is very important to control the over population of dogs. I have personal experience with people abandoning their dogs at our clinic, and if they don't get adopted out within 14-21 days, we have to put them to sleep. So spay and neuter!

Hi there,First male dogs can breed anytime, Female dogs can only breed when they come into season or as some people call it coming into heat.Then you must still wait till they are in standing heat which usually takes from 10 to 14 days from the first signs of bleeding yes the male will be interested but normally the female will not be receptive yet.When your girl is in standing heat you normally have about a 10 day window to breed her where she is receptive to the male.during this time breed the 2 minimally 3 times if not more to be sure it has taken.A female dogs season is not written in stone.
