most dogs both male and female reach sexual maturity between 6-12 months. If you're gonna breed them I would wait until they are at least a year old if not a year and a half. Females can be bred about 2 times a year.

Dogs goes into heat, depending upon the breed. It seems to me as if a male could breed, at any time, but I've always heard that it's best not to let the female breed before her 2nd time around. I followed this, when breeding my dogs, & everything turned out fine. Mine went into heat 2X's a year, too.

They show at least be 2-3 yrs old, no sooner than that.
