Please help! We adopted a lil 9 week old puppy from a couple who advertised its adoption in craigslist, when we got to their place , we found it cramped it with animals..cats, dogs, birds of all sorts, they had a small place and although we were surprised at the number of animals they had, we assumed they were a kindhearted couple who adopted homeless animals and gave them a home.We paid 80$ for the lil pup as adoption fees which they said they had paid when they rescued him from a shelter.They gave us the papers from the animal shelter which specified that he was a "mini pinscher", black and tan color and was due yet for his rabies, nuetering and booster shots.The pup was adorable, we dint think much of the type of breed etc but took him.He is tan colored and looks like a mix of labrador and german shepherd.When we took him to the vet yesterday for his shots,the vet laughed at us saying the couple couldnt have said the truth when they said he was a mix of min pinscher and shepherd

aaawww... ask for his birth certificate... also go to the local county and ask for its family history tree. but they might piss on it since its a tree.

First, you should have gone to an actual shelter to adopt a dog. It probably would have cost you less than $80 and the puppy would have been up to date with his shots and neutered (or if not old enough to be neutered you would have recieved a voucher for free service). Your vet can help you decide what type of dog that you have. He's probably a mix and it may take some time for the puppy to grow up and show characteristics of his breed. Just enjoy the puppy and refer to him as Heintz as in Heintz 57 super mixed breed dog extradinare.

Doesn't sound the your typical "we feel sorry for the animals" kind of people to me. It sounds like your typical "we can make a buck off these damned things" kind of people. I would not have taken a pet from them. You are likely just supporting their money-making scheme. I could definitely be wrong, but that is why is not a good idea to get pets from strangers, unless they run some kind of certified breeding program or are an official shelter. You simply don't know what their intentions are, or their qualifications. Unqualified people should not be running pet sales operations.
