well ive owned only boxers for the last 5 years and Basher is right. It's a reference to the boxers "dance" more commonly known as the "boxer bend" When a boxer is extremely happy they bed their butt and it almost touches their nose. It's incredibly cute and almost always makes me laugh (unless its a bad day, then its just a smile) but it's guaranteed to brighten a day. Boxers are very loyal and are a "family" dog but my dogs listen to only myself (as i've established an alpha position) and they care for only myself and get VERY depressed if for some reason i leave town for a week or two out of the summer on business or vacation where they cannot go. They're not so much a 1-person-dog. They do love family environments and tend to THRIVE in them, but they do have their preference for one special person whom they need a lot of love from. I agree with Basher, you should research the breed LOTS, they're definately not something to just jump into and it wouldnt be fair to take such a needy dog and not understand their needs before obtaining one. All the boxers i've ever owned (4) have needed constant affection and touching.
Oh, and one more thing. They have horrible gas. That's just the way a boxer is built, you may not like it while they're alive.. but i promise when he/she leaves you're going to miss it.
