I mean when I was reading up on Kiba the passage said that when fullgrown akamaru will turnout to look like a wolf,but in Naruto Timeskip it says that akamaru is not a puppy any more but he looks exacly the same except bigger.But also I did see this picture of akamaru and Kibawhen they were all grown up so who knows.

well in naruto shippuden akamaru is huge!!! he is very wolf like and kiba is able to ride him.

akamaru just grows in Naruto Shippuden. he's not the exactly wolf type. he's a normal dog. not much wolf. when akamaru turns six in Naruto Shippuden, then he is extremely big. that's probably the picture u saw.
