Default Could a dog know what breed is my dog by just smelling me?

Dogs are breed sensitive? I mean, can they recognize another's dog breed? If so, just by smelling??

I agree with Chalice, dogs are dogs, they don't really care what breed the other is. If dogs were concerned with breeds, I don't think we would have all the accidental mixes that we do! ;-)

No, dogs can't distinguish other breeds by scent alone. However, a dog with eyes and a brain can make general breed distinctions upon sight. My Cairn was once best friends with a Westie and a Pug - now she gets especially excited to see any Westie or Pug on the street. My mastiff's arch-nemesis is a Golden Retriever. He becomes particularly agitated when he sees ANY golden retriever in the neighborhood.

Not by smell, but I agree with NobodyKnows. My pitbull/carolina dog mix get SUPER excited when seeing/meeting any pitbull type dog (staffordshire bull terrier, american pitbull terrier, amstaff), or dogs that have a similar shape (mixes, some american bulldogs, boxers). I think that all of my fosters and most of his friends have been pitbull types so he relates. He likes other dogs too, but goes bonkers and right into a play bow seeing any of these types of dogs.
