Ive been looking for my dog since Sunday night (he ran off) and today one of my neighbors said he had got ran over and they buried him. Im going to wait like... 6 months (more than likely) to get another dog. But i want to plan on the breed i get to that ill be able to save up enough money to buy it and take care of it, when i do get it. I have a SMALL yard. An 8 month old son(would be around a year old by the time i get another dog) and... would rather not keep it inside (fiance doesnt want an inside dog)_any suggestions? oh and i want one thats sweet and likes to play/cuddle lolexcuse me.. 1st answerer... He ran off because:he was PROBABLY wondering where the heck i was. AND/or my neighbors kids are always opening my gate and coaxing him out. and about them deserving to live inside.... no. They do deserve to come inside and whatever, but.. they are MEANT to be outside.. (so are we, but.. who cares)

you should get a shiba inu their cute and small dogs also freindly with kids but not good with other dogs!

A Basset! they are the cutest, sweetest, most loving dogs i hav eva seen! They are about R900 in South Africa. dont know where u from, so if you in South Africa, you lucky.

Well my favorite dogs are chihuahuas, dachshunds and pugs. All of them are small dogs and very cute and cuddly. Right now I have a Chihuahua and a Chiweeny (Chihuahua-Dachshund mix). p.s. mutts tend to have athsma.

"...would rather not keep it inside"I give you credit for waiting but you should put it off until "fiance" agrees to a dog that will be a part of the family and not just an outdoor dog.

Unfortunately I have to say that until your significant other agrees to let a dog in the house, it is not really appropriate to get another. Who is to say that children will not let the next dog out 'accidentaly', and there will be another tragedy. Also one needs to know what the climate is like where you live before suggesting any breed/type as this should greatly affect your choice if it is to be a solely outdoor dog.
