Default What is the best breed of dog for someone with a busy lifestyle?

I work during the day and v might be gone for 10 hours out of the day. I know these are not the best circumstances and I am not going to get a dog for sure but just so i have a certain breed to consider, what type of dog would be the most tolerant of this lifestyle.

Two breeds come to mind immediately---laborador retrievers and golden retrievers----very good natured, easy going animals.....I would also recommend with your lifestyle that you may want to consider a dog that has been trained already---I work with the Department of Homeland Security and I highly recommend a program they have available. They need good homes for dogs that have been trained, but just do not make the cut for the National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program. I can provide you with more information about this great adoption program if you are interested--I wish you all the best!

Do not get a dog. Wait until you have time to devote to your pet. Dogs require lots of attention and guidance and it isn't fair to them to lock them away alone all day. They will get into mischief due to boredom. If you must have a dog, get two so they will have companionship. They are pack animals.
