Bigger than a Lab? But not a Lab? Sure...Great Dane, Mastiffs, Golden Retriever, Bernese Mountain Dog, St. Bernard, Swiss Mountain Dog, German Shepard, Boxers ( some can be lab sized or bigger), Doberman, German Short Hair Pointer, Irish Setter, English Setter, Gordon Setter.............etc........Any dog when it's young can be active and most dogs will be active if you are active and include it in your activities. It's up to you to keep your dog going strong with exercixe and good nutrition. While there are some breeds that are naturally mellow, most dogs will adapt to your lifestyle if you include them in it. There are other breeds that are overly active....most are sporting breeds like Pointers, Setters, retrievers....etc.

Most bigger dogs are less active after reaching adulthood. As puppies all the large breeds are pretty active. German shephards are about as large as you can get if you want a really active older dog. Some of the large hunting dogs are very active in spurts. While most of the very large breeds are not going to be good jogging companions because of stress on their joints. That said each dog is also an idividual. You may be able to find a hyperactive large breed dog, but you'll want to be prepared for the dissadvantages that will come with having a large active dog. They can be very distructive.
