depends where you live and how big the living space is. large breed dogs needs more room to roam. and small dogs are content to be lap dogs and live in the house much easier then large breeds

I don't think the size of the dog matters as much as the personality. Some people think if you live in a small house or apartment you need a small breed, but I don't think thats true. Some large dogs are perfectly happy as lap dogs and very laid back living in small homes, while some small breeds require very large yards because they are very active. I think when you meet some puppies or dogs, you will know which one "clicks" with you.

Depends on the size of your yard. If you have a large yard then get a large dog. If you have a smaller yard or live in an apartment or Du-plex, you should probably get a small dog or else it will go nuts being inside so much.

oi. What kind of dog do you want? A loving little cuddler lap dog? A larger more protective dog? An athletic dog that needs and wants to go on runs with you?Go to your local shelter/ASPCA and ask them what kind of dog you should get. They will ask you questions and find the right dog for you. There are ALWAYS a large variety of breeds and mixes of different sizes from puppy to senior. Different breeds and mixes have very different personalities and needs, size is not the only factor here!DO NOT go to a pet store and get a dog as they are always more expensive than you can get from a great breeder, and the best thing you can do is go to a shelter and save a life!!!THOUSANDS OF DOGS AND CATS ARE PUT TO SLEEP EVERY DAY BECAUSE PPL DON'T UNDERSTAND THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HAVING PETS!And if you get you dog from a shelter, it will be somewhere from 40-80 bucks for adoption which includes the dog getting spayed/neutered. Those ppl know what they are talking about and can make sure you get the perfect pet for your life. Based on your personal wants/needs, housing situation, financial situation, etc.

If you have a big yard you can get either, but if you don't have much of a yard get small one. I would personally get both if I had time for 2 puppies!

A large breed dog will give you the benefits already mentioned. However, I disagree that a smaller dog won't make a good watch dog because they don't look "scary." They will bark at someone knocking at the door, or ringing the door bell. Costs less to feed them, and unless you are going to go the route of using a groomer, they are alot easier to bathe and groom. I've had both sizes. Your home will probably dictate the size. It boils down to how much time you are WILLING to invest in the animal. But, PLEASE don't get a dog unless you are ready to make the long-term commitment! The rewards of owning a dog are absolutely wonderful...

It really depends on how much you have to spend on food for your dog. The larger the dog the more food it will eat. and vice versa.

all depends. I have 2 small dogs and a golden retriever. We do not have a fenced in yard and it is small but we have the golden for about 3 walks a day. It's alot more work to have an energetic dog so if you like being outside and going for lots of walks and having a shedding dog and a sloppy drinker who's constantly dropping a tennis ball in front of you get a golden........I wouldn't have it any other way....
