Chihuahuas. Seriously. They're the most dependant dogs in the world. I have three of them, and they follow me so close that you would think they were super glued to my calves.

My dog Bella is a bichon, and she is so loyal. She tries to always follow me out of the door because she wants to ride with me, and she follows me around the house, and into my room, and will lay on my bed for hours just watching me. She also doesn't let anyone near out house without alerting us. The only downfall is they're a little hard to pottytrain, but they are very smart and lovable, plus cute, so that's the breed I'd recommend.

I would suggest a nice girl german sheperd because they don't always follo you but thats good because when they start to follo you they do it every day and sometimes you may trip over em. Usually german shepards walk ahead of you then they wait for u to catch up. They are very friendly.

One word, RESEARCH. What type of housing are you in? Small Apt, house with a fenced yard. Do you like big dogs, small dogs, medium size dogs? I have a Doberman and she follows me around the house (it can get annoying at times!) Also, visit your local animal shelters and adopt a dog/puppy.Check out the link I provided.Happy Hunting!

Since you have a lot of time on your hands why don't you volunteer at your local humane society or dog shelter? You'll be able to be first in line when you find 'your' dog there. If you want a dog to be bonded that close to you all you need to do is tie yourself to them with a soft leash or twine so that every time you move they must also move. Encourage them by calling "Let's go!" and patting your knee or dropping down and opening your arms to them. Dogs like to be with their pack and you'll be it. Shelter dogs are awesome ...

Well I know some dependent dog breeds but since you live in a condo it's harder. I would choose a Mini Labradoodle, a Yorkie, or a Puggle.
