Does anyone know what day of heat cycle should you breed your dog. My mom is tring to breed her pomerainean and have failed twice. I mean I know how it works for humans (he-he) but i dont know about dogs. Help becaues my mom is old and paying $600 for the stud, without puppies. (i think this guy is taking advantage but I dont live near her so I cant stop the madness).

Do not breed dogs because theirs other dogs out there that need good homes. but the heat cycle is every six months.

I think you do it on the 3rd day when it is real swollen down there. They should do their thing on their own. She might try to help the male dog by holding the female still. They should do what they call tie-up and then they will be stuck butt to butt and thats when the sperm is released into her. Well good luck.
