Mutt that you rescue from shelter is the best dog breed.

depends on what traits you like. I prefer pit bulls for their loyalty and basset hounds for their laid back attitude and big ears.

The best dog breed would have to be german shepherds. They're really nice, they obey, and learn quick, they can also make good guard dogs, or playful pals.To me, they're the best.

Golden Retrievers are very smart, kind and loving dogs. I never liked dogs all that much until we got our Golden. She's wonderful, understands practically everything we say and she's highly intelligent. I understand why these dogs make great helper dogs for the disabled and blind!

Jack Russell Terriers. They're mid-sized and get to about 15 pounds. If you get a short-haired one, it won't shed much. They are super enthusiastic and remain that way, even when they're old. They get along well with just about anybody.

I would agree with a the earlier response about a mutt from the shelter. There are tooooooo many animals that are put to death because they have no home. However, your question is difficult to answer. It all depends on what you want your dog to be trained to do or how you want them to look. I sugtgest going to this website and comparing all of the common traits that certain breeds have. However, also remember that not every dog of every breed is the same. http://www.petplace.com/dogs/underst...ups/page1.aspx
