Default an owner has male dog that wants to use for breeding.the dog can hear so...

...the owner knows his genotype is eithe DD or Dd.if the dogs genotype is Dd,the owner does nt wish to use him for breeding so the deafness gene will not pass on.this can be tested by breeding the dog to a deaf female(dd).draw a punnet squares to ilustrate 2 possible crosses.

Plug Dd and dd into the Punnett square. The two possible crosses are Dd and dd.

Draw 2 punnet squares and put the female (dd) on top for both. Then put the DD male on the side of one square and the Dd male on the side of the other square.

Draw a punnett square, then another, and another. Then go to the dog shelter and get a dog there instead of adding to overpopulation. Finally, draw another punnett square.

after seeing atleast 4 of your questions regarding punett square, i feel u should have a look at a good book.put D and D on the horizontal and d and d on the vertical lines. these are the gametes formed by the individuals. then write the genotypes in the boxes. in this case all 4 have Dd genotype.proceed in the same manner for the other cross ie by writing D and d on the horizontal and d and d on the vertical lines. the offsprings genotype can be expressed then. here, the ratio between Dd and dd is 1:1

If its DD x dd all offspring will hear (they will all be Dd)If its Dd x dd you will get Dd, dd, Dd,dd so 50% will hear and 50% will be deaf...
