This would be alot easier if you told us what environment you were in.But I suggest going to the SPCA or a dog pound. You shouldn't buy a dog based on breed or looks. Buy on personality.

Collies have a lot of energy, but they have long hair and are not much to look at, Labradors don't have that much energy though they train pretty easy and have short hair, terriers are also great and so are boxers.
