Default What breed of dog is this?

I saw a dog today that I've never seen before. It had the face and spots of a dalmation (it had a medium grey coat with black spots) the body of a greyhound (thin and sleek), and the size of a small great dane. At first I thought it was a mixed breed, but I discribed it to a friend, who said she was pretty sure it was an actual breed because she had a conversation with a man who owned a similar dog while they waited in line at a rabies clinic. However, she couldn't remember the name of the breed. Does anyone know of this particular breed, if it is a breed, and what it's name might be?It was NOT a whippet. I know what whippets look like. This was much larger than a whippet and had the face, ears, and spots of a dalmation, with the body of a greyhound, only much larger like a small great dane. Please, no more whippet answers!lovemypups: The dog I saw was much bigger than the the pictures I saw of the Catahoula Leopard Dog. I remember when I saw it someone else said "Thats not a dog, that's a horse." Which is why I'm starting to think that it was a Great Dane, like JTBW mentioned, except not fully grown. The only problem I'm having with it being donsitered a GD is the fact that all the dogs in pictures I found all had at least some large spots, while the one I saw had numerous small spots, which is why I thought it was a dalmation.

Wow you know, the body doesn't sound like anything I've heard of, but I do know that I've seen australian cattle dogs that look like they have black spots.

It could have been Great Dane. They can have a spotted coat. I think that color pattern is called harlequin.

My father, wants to breed our dogs. They're both pure breed. Do you need a license baby_girl_rose_1 All About Dog Breeds 0 04-07-2007 04:39 AM
If you take 2 purebred dogs of the same breed and breed them to get a quality... aardwolfk All About Dog Breeds 4 04-04-2007 02:06 AM
