Default Are there any breeds of dog that have naturally "pointy ears"?

I love the look of a dog when it is sleek, has a smooth coat, a large muscular body, and sharp, cropped ears (kind of like a doberman pinscher). A dog like that just exudes beauty and power. I'm looking to adopt; however, I would hate to have to crop the poor thing's ears. Are there any other breeds of dog that resemble this description type but with naturally pointed ears?

http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images11...rinity.jpgThis is one of the sight hounds and is an excellent dog. It would need a discerning keeper and some prior knowledge of the breed. A really fine dog indeed ! Please do not crop ears especially of a rescued dog, these awful ideas stress dogs out, and are an affront to dignity. I believe tail docking is now banned and so too should ear cropping be forbidden. A Pharoah is a full breed and may cost a bit to acquire but well worth owning if you really could love and keep such a dog type. Well done for the adoption idea. Choose carefully and good luck !

Default Pointed Ear Dogs

Hi.

Some Manchester Terriers have naturally pointed and erect ears. All Toy Manchester Terriers have naturally pointed and erect ears. I happen to have a Standard Manchester Terrier with naturally pointed and erect ears. He's the greatest.

Basenji's also have naturally pointed erect ears. (I haven't actually owned one but I hear they are like living with a 2 year old all the time. Very intelligent dogs, mischievous, hate water.) There are lots and lots of them for adoption in Texas.

Most terrier's have pointed ears. I'm not up on the rest of the breeds out there.

Default Manchester Terrier

If you love the look of a Doberman Pinscher in a small dog, the Manchester Terrier is for you. Here is link to what the Manchester looks like: Manchester Terrier - Information also....this gives information about them that is accurate. Manchester Terriers: What's Good About 'Em? What's Bad About 'Em? I can attest that my Bruno is a typical Manchester Terrier!

Toy Manchester Terrier's have natural erect and pointed ears and some Standard Manchesters do also.

My Bruno is a standard that has natural erect, pointed ears. His ears are huge! Like bat wings. But he's a very stately dog. Elegant, Poised, Comical! He's 17lbs. of pure muscle and focused attention. He attracts attention wherever we go. This dog is very high energy. Bruno can run at the dog park for 2 hours straight without tiring. Amazes everyone. He's curious, playfull, steals things from me but I love him so much I can't get mad at him. He's too funny. They are not overeaters. Love to run because of the Greyhound in their heritage but you have to be careful around smaller animals because of the instinctive hunter need to chase and kill anything smaller. My Bruno is an excellent mouser and no lizard or gecko is safe in my yard. Cats are fine as long as they aren't moving but anything that moves fast will be pounched and destroyed before I can catch him. Squirrels, birds, rabbits beware.....oh and bicycler's and joggers aren't safe either. Bruno got off his leash twice and caught a bicycler and one jogger. He was so proud of himself! He keeps them in place not moving until he can show me what he's caught. Thank God he didn't bite them!

Still.....You have to experience a Manchester to fully appreciate. Pictures just don't do this breed justice. I'm currently looking to adopt another one!

Default Ear Cropping

I don’t see any thing in ear cropping, if done carefully, For those who crop their pet ears, there is a unique and interesting site. At Medical Tools instruments are top quality and competitive too. Whenever I’ve to buy a product I visit Medical Tools for comprehensive veterinary instruments, it’s a pretty good place to shop I highly recommend it for anyone with even a passing interest in surgery.

You can find ear cropping clamps for Terrier, Pit-bulls and schnauzer breeds and complete toolkit for ear cropping
