...if so how much and how often? The county has just start a lot of road construction and she is freaked. She is refusing to come out from under the couch and is seriously off her food. She weighs between 15 and 20 lbs. She will only go out if I go with her.

I would not suggest that without asking your vet, but I would seriously doubt that it would help.You might want to consider using clomicalm- which is a medication for anxietyOr acepromazine, which is a sedative. I use ace a lot for my dog oscar when there is road construction

Do not give your pet any medication/herbs unless you were given approval by a vet. Humans and dogs are very different and foods/herbs can react very differently for each. Take chocolate, for example, good for humans, bad for dogs.Vets can prescribe some special medication to help with anxiety in dogs. My friend's dog has some pills for storm-related anxiety to help calm the dog. Again, talk to your vet before you give your dog anything.
