If you don't have kids, you should try a Shiba Inu.They're ok around kids but they love their owners & are very sweet.I have one & i love her =)

a classy choice would be a standard poodle. The standard poodle seems to have two personalities at once,they are one part suave style,one part class clown. and they are so smart! i highly recommend them

Well you've already answered part of your own question. But the right dog for you would be the one that best suits your personality, your activity levels (don't get a dog thats hyper if you are not able to exercise him properly), your life style and where you live (city, country, house, apartment etc.) Please don't forget to check out the dogs at your local shelter. There are so many abandoned pets waiting for someone to take them home. I have never, ever had even a small amount of trouble with any pet that I have adopted at a shelter. I'm sure you'll find just the right pet for you, just be patient and follow the criteria above. Good Luck.

cmon...the real answer depends on your personality. dog breeds are all different personalities, to some extent. you have to do research to find a breed that tends to suit yours.
