the age of sexual activity is not the age that breeders use to indicate whether a male of female will be used to breed. The breeding will not commence by a reputable breeder until a female has gone through 3 seasons or at approx 18 months to 2 years. The same with a male. At this time as a former long time breeder I was able to tell if the dog was to standard and its health was ok to consider it for breeding. So to answer the question as to what age the male should be for breeding, 18 months to 2 years. Note, puppies should never have puppies.
