Well, I'm just selling my chocolate labrador due to my allergy I'm looking for a non malting dog too, and i'm also i full time mother there for i would highly recomend the schnauzers - my friend has a miniture schnauzer and it is very child friendly and hardly malts. Hope you find the right dog

I couldn't agree more. We are currently going through the process of trying to adopt a rescue dog. Lots of people have said to us 'why don't you get a puppy?' but I can't do that knowing that perfectly good dogs are being left to live out their lives in rescue homes. Granted, there are some that wouldn't be suitable because you have kids but I have no doubt that there are plenty who are suitable for your situation.

Hi, I have a miniature poodle named Jax and he does not shed, mat and needs little grooming between cuts. He is very friendly with children and other dogs. very affectionate and obedient. All he wants is to be with us. We waited til I was retired to get a dog and he was well worth it. Lots of rescued dogs are mixed with poodles now and I'm not sure if they are hypo-allergenic too but they are cute and tend not to shed. Whatever dog you decide on I am sure he will be very happy with your family.

I suppose I'm just weird but, I'd be taking allergy shots before I even thought of giving up my dogs. Nothing would make me give them up!!! My girls are my life.
