the most common and the best breed of dog?

there's none.Retrievers are naturally good in fetching,retrieving.Guard dogs, like GSD,rottweilers are good for...guarding.Work dogs, like the siberian huskies are great of pulling sleds.The point is there's is no perfect dog...But what you like will mostly be your 'best breed of dog'.

I like Mutts made up of good breeds like Labrador (loyalty/character)German Shep (devotion/intelligence)Sharpei (psychosis)Australian Sheperds do this weird "ankle nipping" thing that is from actually herding goats or whatever they actually have been used to herd throughout the generations, it is funny - but gets very annoying, very fastspeaking of annoying - Dalmation -ugh ...they are cute as hell and look cool, but cripes, they yip and yip and run around - they never shut up or stop. I don't know alot about Hounds from personal experience, other than they bellow (rather than bark) and are not terribly social. the important thing to remember is that the owner gives the dog most of its personality. A good dog is made by a combination of love and discipline. If you let you dog walk all over you - it will. Dogs like rules, they like when they do the right thing, and get rewarded for it, its not mean to teach your dog the rules.
