Exclamation Breed For Me???

Hi, Im new here on the forums! I have done some research on certain breeds that may fit our requirements...
a)We need a breed that will most likely do well with cats
b)Two responsible kids that are good with dogs, the oldest would be interested in doing some agility.
c)grooming is not an issue
d)excercise(sp??)... we could do up to an hour: walks or anything else.
any suggesttions??:mrgreen::

Default breeds

Hello,
A highly bred Golden or Lab both are wonderful family dogs and great in training. They can get large, but are warm, sweet breeds. Avoid the "backyard breeder". I didn't know that Goldens are over bred and as a result are developing allergies and some temper type behaviors unusual to the breed- go with a real breeder. A smaller great breed is the Beagle; the Pug- though not for agility on the Pug! Terriers can be wonderful, but very high energy...lots to choose from. You could also look at shelters- we found a Boston-Beagle from Pet Finders and she's the best! Energy, precious appearance; highly intelligent, affectionate and LOVES training! Perfect cuddling size as well.

Default dog and cats

I'm not sure what dog breed naturally likes cats. My experience has been to get the cat to accept the dog! Goldens and Labs are very friendly by nature, but my Mom's cat will have nothing to do with any dog- no matter how relaxed he is...I'd imagine getting a kitten and a puppy at the same time would be the easiest way to form a bond-?

Default I would have to say...

Hello,

I agree.. labs are very good dogs with cats and are easy to train... I suppose it depends if you like big or small dogs becuase yorkies are good too.
Do you like smaller or bigger dogs and I may be able to recommend some for you!
Tiana
