Default HELP -- Is this a St. Bernard?

Can anyone verify by looking at this picture if this is a St. Bernard? We have been told it is 8 years old, female, and a full bread St. Bernard. We are going to look at her tomorrow, but would like to know ahead of time if that is truly what it is. Thanks for your help!

I would say it's a little hard to tell because of her lying down. The biggest concern I can see is that she possibly may not be a shorthaired dog, which they usually are, but again it's hard to tell. Here's a link that might help.

there are two acceptable hair lengths but the hair looks very short to me altho it should not grow straight out as this dogs does.

she looks to be poorly bred & not healthy at all, but thats from a picture

I would want to see vet records. is she spayed? if so when was that done? if not was she used as a breeder?

I would want to see how much trouble she has getting up & laying down. also, have them walk her away from you & see how much she sways - she is probably arthritic & could have hip displaysia

what excuse are they using to get rid of their beloved dog? has she always been an outside dog?

I certainly hope they are not charging you for an 8 yr old saint. are you sure a dog this age will fit your needs?

why is it you want a saint?

if it is this particular dog you want, to make her last years better - thats great, but be informed about what you are facing
