Smile Giant Schnauzers

Hello All,

My name is Julie Baxter and a couple of weeks ago I got my first giant schnauzer, Biff.

Biff in just nine-weeks-old today, and alread he's getting to be quite a BIG lad!

Are there any other giant owners here?

Also, I have a couple of bullmastiffs.

Loooking forward to hearing from some of you.

Cheers,
Julie

the gs will be totally different than the bullmastiff,im sure youve already done your homework.
this breed will be more alert and ready to protect the family.
ive known gs to go to shows and still dislike other dogs.
they remind me of german sherperds by their attitude.
they can do schnutzhund and ive heard that some bite the sleeve very hard.

Hello.

From what you say, it seems the GS is *very* much like the bullmastiff! Bullies are generally very dog-aggressive. Moreover, once they attack a human (and this *does* occasionally happen) they are extremely difficult to call off.

Cheers,
Julie

the gs is is a very alert breed, more than the bullmastiff!
this type of mastiff is no where near what they were bred for all those years ago.
where as the gs is less ruined as a breed, will be more up for it than a bullmastiff period.
im sure the mastiff can be dog aggressive .people aggressive too.
all well trained dogs shoud not be hard to call off.
personal protection dogs are usually selected after rigorous training.
these dogs arent bite and run dogs.a dog high in fight drive is the ultimate pp dog,it enjoys the pressure.it must not be hard to call off.
for me he gs has more potential and much more than the bullmastiff.
the gs is totally different!
