We adopted Mondo from a shelter in December 2007. All we know is that he is about 3 years old. We think he is half Red Doberman and half Chocolate Lab (he has longer hair than just a Dobie). He has a great personality, is highly trainable and is great with children.
What breed do you think he is based on the pictures?

Im not good with dog breeds... i think he's a lab... just a wild guess... anyway... nice pictures...

I would say you are right on your guess.

Or it could be lab with some kind of hound type dog.

As long as he is sweet that is all that matters!

As the Rhodesian ridgeback does seem to be a possibility the only problem is that the dogs name implies the symetrical ridge of hair running the length of its back. The ridge is a result of the hair growing in the opposite direction of the rest of the coat. This dog does not show any signs of it. Rhodesians and labs do share some similarities so most likely lab and Red Doberman is probably correct.

It is Rhodsian ridgeback, because there is no dog like Red Doberman.

sorry but you are wrong the Doberman does come in a red as well as black, albino and blue. Check the breed color and standards jack, it may help you learn more about breeds in general. While you are at it look up Rhodesian ridgeback so you will know what to look for when someone asks what breed their dog is and so that you will know also.

in answer to your question I think he looks like a chocolate lab/ mixed with doberman. He has a lab tail and has lab features. also has doberman features. whatever he is he sure is a cutie.

I think it is Rodisan Ridgeback.

review the photo, there is no resemblance to the Rhodesian.

i have a chocolate lab (but with no white spots as your dog seems to have in the pics)...red dobbie? very possible, but looks mostly choc. lab....i love their amber eyes!

I agree....Chocolate Lab and red Doberman....There is NO Rhodesian Ridgeback in that dog and the person who said there's no such thing as a red Dobie needs to do some research!
