Default Non-Shedding Dogs

I would like to know which dogs don't shed, I've got a Yorkie Shih-Tzu and I am looking for another dog, probably not the same size, but one that doesn't shed, or sheds VERY little. Thanks

Similar-sized dogs: Lhasa apso, Maltese, Shih Tzu, Yorkie, Silky Terrier, Toy and Miniature Poodles, Dachshunds, any dog with a silky coat like the Yorkie or Maltese that needs to be cut, and dogs with curly, continuously growing hair like the poodles. Terriers with rough, wiry coats usually don't shed very much at all (it's hardly noticeable at all), Schnauzers, and very short-coated dogs like Smooth Dachshunds, Boston Terriers, and similar dogs. Oddly enough, many dogs that are supposedly low-maintenance, like Labradors and Beagles, can shed a lot! Pugs, though they have short hair, tend to shed heavily and need to have their wrinkles cleaned daily, so they are relatively high-maintenance. If you are taking care of your Yorkie-Shih Tzu properly and keeping him/her brushed out and well-groomed, then I would suggest something similar for a companion, like a Shih Tzu or small poodle mix.

All dogs produce dander, even hairless dogs, and people are allergic to the dander. Some breeds, like hairless dogs, are easier to keep the dander under control and thus do not cause a problem. Here's a list of hairless breeds.
Chinese Crested
Hairless Khala
Peruvian Inca Orchid
Xoloitzcuintli
American Hairless Terrier

Hello iitob

Here's a very good list: Dog Breeds That Don't Shed (or Shed Minimally)

As a Dachshund owner/breeder for the last 40 years, don't count on a Dachshund to be a non-shedder. Even the smooths shed quite a bit. It's just really short hair. On the other hand, they don't have doggy odor, and they're a lot of fun.

Some of the terrier breeds are also profuse shedders. A good terrier coat doesn't shed a lot until it's "blown". But when they blow coat, watch out! Hair everywhere. And unfortunately, there are a lot of terriers in the world who don't have good coat. They shed all the time.
